Parsley, also known as Petroselinum crispum, is a leafy herb belonging to the Apiaceae family. It is often available in both fresh and dried or powdery form and has a bright, herbaceous, and a somewhat bitter taste that serves as a contrast to bolster the other flavors in a dish, similar to lemon zest.
